This Privacy Policy explains how WealthPlan SA ("the App", "we", "us") handles personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). By using WealthPlan SA, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

WealthPlan SA allows you to enter personal and financial information for your own planning purposes, including but not limited to: your age, income, asset and liability values, insurance cover amounts, estate details, and emergency contact information (such as the name and phone number of your executor, financial adviser, or attorney) entered in the "If I Pass Away" section.
All personal information you enter into WealthPlan SA is stored locally on your own device only, using your device's local storage. We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure that receive, store, or have access to this information as part of the App's normal, everyday features (Wealth, Retirement, Insurance, Estate, Family, and similar planning tools).
The exceptions to this are described in Section 8 (Features That Involve Third Parties) below — specifically the optional "Ask AI" feature, and any backup file you choose to create and share yourself.
Information is processed solely at your direction and for your own benefit, to enable the App's calculators and planning tools to function. You voluntarily provide this information and may choose what to enter, edit, or leave blank at any time.
Because your information is stored only on your device, you retain full and direct control over it at all times. You may:
Since we do not hold any copy of your data ourselves (other than as described in Section 8 below), requests to access, correct, or delete data held "by us" are not applicable for most of the App's features — you exercise these rights directly through the App or your device.
We do not sell, rent, share, or transmit your personal information to any third party, advertiser, or data broker for advertising, marketing, or resale purposes. The App does not contain advertising or third-party tracking software.
A small number of optional features in WealthPlan SA work differently from the rest of the App, and involve information leaving your device. These features are clearly labelled within the App, and using them is entirely your choice.
Ask AI: if you use this feature, the questions and information you type are sent to Anthropic (the provider of the underlying AI model) in order to generate a response. This information is not stored by us, but is subject to Anthropic's own data handling practices as the processor of that request. Do not enter sensitive personal identifiers (such as your ID number) into Ask AI.
Backup & Restore: the App lets you create a backup file of your own data and share it yourself (for example, via email, AirDrop, or cloud storage) so you can restore it if you lose your device. Creating and sharing this file is entirely your own action — we do not receive, store, or have access to this file. You are responsible for keeping any backup file you create secure, since it contains the same personal and financial information stored in the App.
Family Emergency Access: the App allows you to voluntarily set up a separate PIN to give a trusted family member or executor limited, read-only access to certain information in an emergency. This is entirely your choice, and you are responsible for deciding who to share this PIN with and how securely you do so.
WealthPlan SA includes an optional "Adviser Mode" that allows a financial adviser to enter and store information belonging to their own clients, for the adviser's own professional planning purposes. Where this feature is used, the adviser (not WealthPlan SA or its developer) is the Responsible Party under POPIA in respect of that client information, and is solely responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis, appropriate consent, and any other authorisation required to collect, store, and process that information about their clients.
As with all other information in the App, client information entered in Adviser Mode is stored locally on the adviser's own device only, and is not transmitted to us.
WealthPlan SA is not directed at children and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
While we do not store your information ourselves, the security of information stored on your device depends on your device's own security settings (such as a passcode or biometric lock), and the App's own PIN lock feature. We recommend securing your device and enabling the App's lock feature, particularly given the sensitive financial nature of the information stored in this App.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App's features change. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above.
